Electro Voice announces the upgrade of the popular RE 2 Pro wireless microphone system transmitters to new more compact models.
The new PHTU handheld transmitters now use the same chassis as used in the REV PHD presenter model. As with REV transmitters the new RE 2 PHTU Pro transmitters use the new RC2 series of vocal heads offering N/D 967, N/D767A, RE 410, RE 510 and the new PL80 capsules in a slimmer housing than the previous RC series heads. The transmitter can be ordered with any one of these heads as standard. In addition the transmitter will also accept standard Shure heads and unlike the previous range of transmitters no longer require transition rings for these. As with standard RE 2 HTU transmitters the new handhelds operate on a 9 volt battery. The advantage of the Pro transmitter is apart from having the ability to change heads it also has the ability to operate on either a 5 or 50mw transmission power (compared to 30mw on a standard RE 2 transmitter).

In addition there is now a more compact WTU belt pack transmitter that will operate as standard with all EV microphone capsules as per the standard RE 2 belt pack transmitter. This utilises the same chassis as the REV WT  transmitter. The new WTU comes as standard with a new metal belt clip as well as the BC 1000 cell phone style button to allow the transmitter to be used with Polar choice Satellite microphones. The WTU operates on two AA style batteries and can also incorporate NMH rechargeable batteries to allow it to be used in the new BC 200 battery charger.

The RE 2 receiver remains as standard.
