Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM)
Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM) provides a Distributed Network Video Recorder solution, eliminating the need for dedicated NVRs, and introduces the second generation of IP Network video recording. VRM supports iSCSI-based storage systems and the Bosch Video IP devices (IP cameras and IP video servers).
The Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM) centrally manages direct-to-iSCSI recordings from Bosch IP cameras and encoders. The The Bosch VRM is 2nd generation IP network video recording technology, replacing 1st generation NVRs (Network Video Recorders). The Bosch VRM eliminates the proliferation of NVR PCs, their OS, NVR and anti-virus software and is easier for IT to manage. Systems using direct-to-iSCSI with the Bosch VRM offer a lower total cost of ownership by reducing the maintenance expenses of PC-based NVRs.
Bosch VRM pools all available iSCSI RAIDs and automatically allocates storage on demand to IP devices, making it much easier for the installer to configure storage. Expanding the storage is as simple as adding another iSCSI RAID to the network. The software acts as a “traffic cop” by distributing video across the storage devices. This delivers failover reliability and higher performance through load balancing.
